Mobile subscribers cut their monthly spending by 20% in a year

Dataxis Intelligence, the leading market research firm, found that global mobile consumer slashed its monthly spending by 20% to $16 as of September 2009 in comparison to the same period a year earlier.

The split by region shows that North Americans spend more than any other mobile consumer on earth with an average monthly bill of $51, followed far behind by Europeans with $22 just ahead of Middle Easterners at $20.

As for the less spenders, Latinos allocate $13 monthly for mobile services, while in the same time Asia-Pacific and Africa spent respectively $11 and $10 in the quarter to September 2009.
