53 million new mobile subscriptions registered monthly worldwide in the last two years
Thursday, February 11th, 2010In a recent research, Dataxis Intelligence found that in the last 2 years the mobile industry has attracted more than 1.2 billion new customers to bring worldwide mobile subscriptions to over 4.4 billion as end of September 2009 representing an unprecedented growth rate of over 40% in the considered period.(see chart below)
Among the key findings, it is also interesting to notice that between the fourth quarter 2007 and third quarter 2009 there were on average 159 million new subscribers per quarter, 53 million each month and 1.7 million a day, thus making the mobile communications one of the fastest growing industries worldwide.
