Polish digital cable subscribers to reach 1 million by the end of 2010

polandAccording to Dataxis Intelligence, digital cable subscriber base will hit one million by the end of 2010. In June 2010, Poland has about 929.000 digital subscribers compared to 865.000 subscribers in March 2010. It represents a 7.5% growth in the quarter.

UPC Polska led this digital market with 295.000 subscribers, followed by Vectra with 262.000 subscribers. With 29.1% of digitalization for UPC Polska, which is the highest rate in the country, the potential of the market in terms of digital subscribers is huge and the one million mark may be reached sooner than expected. With the possible merger of Vectra and Multimedia Polska, the new merged company would be the leader the digital cable market in Poland.
