Broadband is close to saturation in Italy

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

The “Report on the demand for connectivity and broadband services in the Italian families” shows that the Italian broadband is close to the saturation.

The increasing number of subscribers each quarter approaches more and more to the market saturation. 12 million households do not have a PC, while only 1.6 million households with a PC but without connection. These households, typically with no members able to use a PC, are unable to correctly perceive the potential of the network as a new channel for the use of services. A digital divide is created and it could be a financial risk to the industry.
