Justin.tv: the largest online community for video streaming?

Friday, March 27th, 2009

justin.tv announced on Wednesday that it has become a top five online community for people to broadcast, watch and interact around live video, according to Quantcast, an audience measurement company. The same source indicates that Justin.tv attracts 41.4 million monthly unique visitors, more than Hulu (28.1 million) and Veoh (22.5 million)… And according to Google Analytics, Justin.tv’s year-over-year traffic has grown by 1,800 percent, and the company expects a stronger growth in 2009…
“Justin.tv is enabling people to create real-time connections with others around the world through live video on a massive scale,” said Michael Seibel, CEO of Justin.tv. “Live video is far more engaging than clip video, which is why we’ve seen such tremendous growth in the past year. Ultimately, we’re giving our users a more valuable experience, so we expect to grow even more in 2009 and beyond.”

Founded in October 2006, Justin.tv has now become a leading live video website, with more than 428,000 channels broadcasting live video and 1.75 million hours of video watched per day, according to figures delivered by the company.
